Union Public Service Commission 2025

 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the notification for the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2025. This examination aims to recruit medical officers for various central government organizations. The online application process commenced on February 19, 2025, and will conclude on March 11, 2025.

 Vacancy Details

The UPSC CMS Examination 2025 offers a total of 705 vacancies across different positions:

  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways: 450 positions

  • Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Service: 226 positions

  • General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council: 9 positions

  • General Duty Medical Officer Grade II in Municipal Corporation of Delhi: 20 positions

 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination.

  • Age Limit: Candidates must not have attained the age of 32 years as of August 1, 2025. Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms.

     Application Process

Interested candidates can apply online through the official UPSC website from February 19, 2025, to March 11, 2025. The application fee is Rs. 200 for General and OBC candidates, while SC/ST/PwBD and female candidates are exempted from the fee.

 Examination Details

The UPSC CMS Examination 2025 is scheduled for July 20, 2025. The selection process comprises two stages:

  1. Written Examination: This consists of two papers, each carrying 250 marks.

    • Paper I: General Medicine and Pediatrics

    • Paper II: Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine

  2. Personality Test: Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for a Personality Test carrying 100 marks.

     Salary Structure

The selected candidates will be appointed at Level 10 in the pay matrix, with a salary ranging from Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month. Additional allowances such as Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA), Dearness Allowance (DA), and House Rent Allowance (HRA) are also provided.
